The opening ceremony for the internship program of the Department of Firefighting at the Central Police University was held on July 2nd at 2 PM at the Zhushan Training Center of the Fire Department. President Huang Ming-chao of the Central Police University, along with Dean Wu Guan-yuan of the Police Technology College, Director Huang Yu-xiang of the Department of Firefighting, and instructors Lu Jing-chen and Wu Jia-long, attended the ceremony. President Huang also expressed his gratitude to Director Hsiao Huan-zhang of the Fire Department for attending and encouraging the students.
In his address, the President first thanked the Fire Department for its long-term provision of high-quality resources and announced the official launch of the new "Elite Firefighter Training Model." New students will receive training in Zhushan during their first semester, completing professional certification training in seven major areas over three summers: fire rescue, chemical disaster response, mountain search and rescue, rapids rescue, and emergency medical care. The program will also strengthen their knowledge in important areas such as "disaster safety and occupational safety and health" and "Tactical Emergency Care (TECC)." This will allow them to seamlessly transition into the workforce, becoming highly trained and ready-to-fight personnel. The principal emphasized that Zhushan University boasts the nation's most advanced 13 categories and 66 types of simulated physical facilities, serving as a crucial platform for international disaster prevention exchanges. He hoped students would accumulate experience and broaden their international perspectives in the most realistic environment.
The most heartwarming highlight of the ceremony was the principal's individual concern for each student, like an elder, urging them to uphold the spirit of "safety first, discipline paramount, humble learning, and teamwork," to humbly learn, and to cooperate with the internship instructors and teachers to refine their practical professional skills. He also encouraged them to strengthen their foreign language abilities, promising future opportunities to send students abroad for exchange studies, working together towards international development. During the group photo, the principal enthusiastically joined the students in a "thumbs up" gesture, demonstrating a close teacher-student relationship and bringing this ceremony, which combined logistical upgrades, technological inheritance, and warm care, to a perfect close.
